Greetings and Salutations!
This is going to be a year of discovery for my 6th graders. 6th graders will learn about how the modern world got to be the way it is because of the actions of the ancient civilizations that came before. We will study about the effects of geography on civilizations, the roots of culture, paleolithic and neolithic peoples, Mesopotamia, Egypt, China, Greece, Rome, the Byzantine Empire and Medieval Europe. We will also study five of the world religions and you will have a chance to learn more about civilizations of your choice.
I also have one 7th grade class this year! In 7th grade, the curriculum is about United States history from the end of the Civil War through the end of World War II. We will study many different eras and time periods. We will also be studying about the Constitution, the three branches of government and the Electoral College. Hang on to your hats, we have a lot of fun learning to do!
